Eternit Aktiengesellschaft

Eternit AG is one of the leading manufacturers of quality products for roofs, facades, and extensions in Germany. It is part of the global Etex Group. For more than 100 years, Eternit has been synonymous with the fiber-cement used to make roofs, corrugated boards, facades, and boards used to extend buildings.

Today, the company´s portfolio includes a number of other materials and products. For decades, environmental protection, health considerations, and occupational safety have played a crucial role at Eternit and forms the basis of a comprehensive "sustainabilty strategy".

At the beginning of the 1990s, Eternit was one of the first companies to voluntarily open itself to external auditors and have all of its products certified by the independent IBU Institute in accordance with strict criteria. At Eternit, comprehensive quality management has led us to implement standards and have audits conducted for many years.

The comapany pursues the EFQM´s (European Foundation for Quality Management) modern management model and is a founding member of the DGNB. At the end of 2008 all Eternit products will have "Environmental Product Declarations" documenting not only the composition of the materials, but the entire lifecycle.
